Three women are given the makeover of a lifetime, sharing their lives, thoughts and fears as they are transformed by leading experts. 2000 British women applied to take part in the series, and the three lucky ladies featured were chosen by a team of medical experts to receive the latest surgical procedures, dentistry and fitness regimes on offer in Los Angeles to boost their self-esteem and give them a new confidence in themselves.
As well as surgery, diets and exercise, each woman undergoes life-coaching from the woman once described by Oprah Winfrey as a miracle worker. For all three participants – a 26-year-old woman badly bullied as a teenager, a 44-year-old grandmother who looks much older than her years and a 35-year-old mother of two who has encountered problems after a major weight loss – the journey brings an incredible mixture of highs and lows as they cope with physical pain and the emotional wrench of separation from their husbands and children.
